01/08/10 - State Cross Country Championships - Geelong

IGA State Cross Country Championships 2010
THE CHAMPIONSHIP SHALL BE HELD AT GEELONG RACECOURSE, BREAKWATER ON SUNDAY 1st AUGUST 2010.
THE FIRST EVENT IS SCHEDULED TO COMMENCE AT 11.00am.
The Event Timetable will be circulated as soon as it is available.

Entries

All individual & invitational entries close - Midnight Monday 14th July 2010 online at www.vlaa.com.au
Payment must be made by Credit Card at time of entry.

Team Entries

If there are sufficient entries in each age group, the centre will enter a team entry for those athletes.

Late Entries

No late entries will be accepted.

Events Conducted

The following events are conducted throughout the day:
Under 7 – 8 Boys & Girls – 1000m (Non championship events)
Under 9 – 10 Boys & Girls – 1500m
Under 11 – 12 Boys & Girls – 2000m
Under 13 – 15 Boys & Girls – 3000m

Uniforms

All athletes shall wear an approved Centre uniform during competition. Incorrect or non-approved uniform shall result in the athlete being disqualified. Footwear Spikes are not permitted to be worn by any athlete in Cross Country events.

27/05/10 - Trots Night Brae Raceway 6.15pm

If you haven't got your ticket yet, get in quick as there are not many left. This is the major fundraiser for the year. Tickets are $30 which includes track entry, and a 3 course meal at the terrace restaurant, punters club, and goods and services auction. 10-11/04/10 - Ballarat Grammar Junior Gift

Hello everyone, just a reminder that Little Aths hasn't finished just yet. In support of the revamped Senior Ballarat Gift program to be held over the weekend of the 10th and 11th April, we will be conducting a modified program at Eureka Stadium (Creswick Rd) on Saturday the 10th starting at 8.45 am. (NOTE - LATER START TIME OF 9.30 AM - For all you people wanting a sleep in this Saturday, you now have no excuse not to come along. Dont forget entry will allow you to stay and see Mondays Stawell Gift winner Tom Burbidge try and make it two in a row!!)

The “Ballarat Grammar Junior Gift” program will include 2 x sprints and 1 x middle distance race with the qualifiers progressing to “handicapped” finals to be held the following day (Sunday the 11th April) during the Senior Ballarat Gift finals program.  

There are no field events scheduled. Athletes may only contest one final. Medals will be presented to all placegetters courtesy of “Ballarat Grammar School”. Qualifying athletes will compete in the following finals:

Junior boys and junior girls sprint finals (120m) - 1xU6, 1xU7, 2xU8, 2xU9 and 2xU10 from their 100m heat.

Senior boys and senior girls sprint finals (120m) - 2xU11, 2xU12, 2xU13, 1xU14 and 1xU15 from their 100m heat.

Boys and girls distance finals (800m) - 1xU9, 1xU10, 1xU11, 1xU12, 1xU13, 1xU14 and 1xU15 from their 800m heat.

Handicaps will be determined from PB’s during the season.

Entry will be $2 per adult which will enable you to stay all day and watch the professional runners compete in a variety of events culminating in the Senior Gift final. We look forward to seeing a big turn out with the chance to rub shoulders with Victoria best professional runners. 

26/03/10 - Presentation Night

Presentation evening at Ballarat Grammar School  turned out to be a great evening with the BBQ annd games on the oval helping to keep the youngsters amused while the awards for the older age groups were being presented. Well done to all and congratulations to all the children who received awards. As Glenn said though, we are all winners  and to see so many children and parents actively involved in healthy family fun and fitness is the real victory. Here are all the awards.  Award results.
