This is a wonderful opportunity for our Western Country Region athletes and
I encourage you to promote it to your families.
A quick snapshot of the coaches:
- Rod Griffin, Level 3, Advanced Events Group Coach, Middle and Long Distance. Australian Coach for the World Cross Country Championships.
- Lindsay Burgoyne, Level 5 Throws Coach, 6 years Athletics Australia Youth Coach.
- Paul Cleary, Level 3, Advanced Events Group Coach, sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps & Throws.
- Ricky Price, Level 3, Advanced Events Group Coach, sprints, hurdles, relays & jumps.
- Daryl Biggin, Level 2, Intermediate Club Coach. Coach of Australian race walking champions. Western Country Region Race Walking development officer.
As you can imagine it's not often all this talent & experience is available on the one day.
Any of your own coaches who would be interested in attending to observe or assist are most welcome.
There will be 2 sessions run by each coach, commencing at 10.30 and finishing at 3.00 ( note that this is for U12 & above athletes.)
FedUni Westvic Academy of Sport will also be attending with information on their organisation. an opportunity for them to spot our talented kids and to answer any questions parents or athletes may have.
It's also a chance for everyone to see Stawell's new track & Stawell have generously offered to run the BBQ for the day.
